Rochester, Mich. – The Oakland women's soccer team looks to improve to three conference wins in a matchup against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons.
The Golden Grizzlies came away with a 1-0 win in their most recent match on the road against the Green Bay Phoenix. In the match, Shannon Brown scored her first goal of the season and Marina Downing recorded her first assist.

Oakland looks to stay hot against the Mastodons, as they hold an 8-2-2 record against the team. Both teams last played each other last season at the Oakland Soccer Field and ended the game in a 1-1 draw.
Scouting the Mastodons, the team is 6-5-1 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. Purdue Fort Wayne also gets busy on both sides of the field, ranking second in the Horizon League in shots taken and third in the Horizon League in saves.
However, Oakland's leading goal scorer, Frankie Mudd, leads all Horizon League players in shots taken with 39 and shots on goal with 15. With three goals on the season and an average of three shot attempts per game, Mudd is set to have a high-volume game against the Mastodons.
On the other side of the field, Gigi Ricciardi is the leading goalscorer for Purdue Fort Wayne. Ricciardi is a dual threat for the Mastodons. On top of scoring the most goals for the Mastodons, Ricciardi also ranks in the top ten in assists in the Horizon League so far this season.
