INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Horizon League announced today that the Golden Grizzlies Men's and Women's Track and Field teams placed fourth for the second consecutive year in the annual Under Armour Indoor #HLTF Preseason Poll.
All the head coaches participated in the poll and each gave their first-place vote to either Youngstown State or Milwaukee in the men's and women's categories. In the women's poll, Milwaukee and Youngstown State received equal votes with five, tying the pair in first place.
The Oakland women's team followed suit in fourth place behind Purdue Fort Wayne. Northern Kentucky, Robert Morris and IU Indianapolis were the three teams voted behind the Golden Grizzlies, as Detroit Mercy, Wright State and Cleveland State rounded out the 10.
In the men's category, Youngstown State, Milwaukee and Purdue Fort Wayne polled in the three sports ahead of Oakland, with IU Indianapolis, Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky and Wright State following behind the team.
At the 2024 #HLTF Indoor Championships, the Golden Grizzlies men exceeded their preseason expectations of fourth place, finishing in third with 105 points, and the Golden Grizzlies women's team met their preseason forecast, finishing in fourth with 100.5 points.
