Swim and Dive to Face Redhawks in Oxford

Kurt Szymanski

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Following a revenge win against the Grand Valley State Lakers, the Golden Grizzlies swim and dive team looks to stay hot against the Miami Redhawks on Saturday, Nov. 16.

For the men's team, they took care of business last year when they matched up against Miami, totaling 179 points in their victory. The women's team came up short of the Redhawks the previous year, tallying 108 points in a loss.

Christopher Palvadre and Jordyn Shipps will be key players to watch in the competition with the Redhawks this Saturday.

Palvadre was the Golden Grizzlies' leading point scorer against the Michigan Wolverines and Grand Valley State. Palvadre also had his best time in the 200 breast against the Lakers, proving that this Golden Grizzlies roster is only getting better as the season continues.

For Shipps, she was also the leading point scorer for Oakland in their matchups with the Wolverines and the Lakers. Against the Wolverines, Shipps put up a resilient fight, placing second in two events, including the 100 fly and the 200 fly.

The competition, which will feature 38 events starting with the 1650 free and ending with the 200 free relay, will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET at the Oakland Aquatics Center.
